RAISE-U is a growing European community where education, research, and practice come together to advance responsible and human-centred AI. We connect institutions, researchers, educators, professionals, and innovators to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and collaboratively develop new forms of teaching, research and real-world application. From co-creating adaptable education programmes to linking interdisciplinary research and fostering open dialogue, RAISE-U builds a vibrant network that places societal value, trustworthiness, and human dignity at the core of AI.

Our community’s roots lie in the Human‑Centred AI Master’s (HCAIM), a pioneering European programme that brought together universities, excellence centres, and SMEs to develop an integrated curriculum combining ethical, technical, and applied AI competencies. Now running across four universities, HCAIM equips students to build AI systems responsibly, understand their societal impact, and collaborate across borders through shared materials and mobility opportunities.  

Building on the success of HCAIM, the consortium expanded and committed to a broader, multisector vision: PANORAIMA (the PanEuropean Network for Responsible Artificial Intelligence Multisector Master’s Programme). Bringing together 8 universities, 3 SMEs, and 4 research centres, PANORAIMA is developing an interdisciplinary Master’s with sectorspecific tracks and flexible, modular learning pathways. Beyond the degree, the project creates open, transferable learning materials and a strong research and teaching community, contributing to a European reference model for Responsible AI education that is inclusive, ethical, and future oriented.
